Live better with our periods

Better Period's mission is to raise awareness about menstruating bodies and help people find solutions that improve their period experience. Researches show that 80% of menstruating individuals suffer from menstrual pain at some point in their life and 40% of them endure life-disrupting pain every single month.

I’m committed to giving back the precious time lost by those suffering from PMS, cramps, migraines, and more. I truly believe that reclaiming this time will pave the way for a world where half the population is no longer held back by their biology. With that time, we’ll see people creating, educating, building, and transforming society.

A crucial part of this mission is advocating for better healthcare. We deserve to be heard when we talk about period pain, and we deserve faster, more accurate diagnoses.

Better Period's mission is to raise awareness, share tools to track your cycle and lifestyle solutions.

About

About

I am France-Emmanuelle Adil, I’m a cis-woman, scientist, entrepreneur, mom of two, and a wife. Like many, I juggle a lot every day, but one of the biggest challenges I've faced started when I got my first period at 11 years old. For 25 years, I dealt with relentless PMS, cramps, and migraines every month. Sometimes, I’d even feel the effects up to two weeks before my period.

My mom used to tell me this pain was just my body’s way of preparing for childbirth, and my gynecologist would recommend ibuprofen—or even antidepressants—to manage it. I spent years feeling ashamed of my periods and the pain, convinced that I was just weak and that nothing would help until menopause. But recently, I’ve learned that’s not the case.

This realization set me off on a journey of self-discovery to understand why our society allows half the population to suffer so needlessly. As I found ways to improve my own period experience, I realized I couldn’t keep this information to myself.

I’m joining the conversation because the more we talk about these issues, the more solutions will be found and researched, and the more we’ll be seen.

If we stay silent, if we don’t share our experiences, it’s as if the problem doesn’t exist. Let’s keep talking, sharing, and finding better ways forward.
